Kalinina (No. 35 WTA ) in the first round of the WTA 250 tournament in Austin, she defeated the Czech Sarah Beilek (No. 132 WTA) – 6:3, 6:2.
The match lasted 1 hour and 8 minutes. Kalinina served straight 3 times, made 3 double faults and used 7 out of 14 break points.
In the second round of the competition, Angelina will play with Colombian Camila Osorio (No. 98 WTA).
Yastremskaya (No. 33 WTA) in the opening match of the WTA 500 tournament in San Diego defeated American Caroline Dolehide (No. 45 WTA) – 6:4, 5:7, 6:1.
The match lasted 2 hours and 9 minutes. Dayana served straight 3 times, made 9 double faults and used 7 out of 8 break points.
Russian Anna will be Yastremskaya’s next opponent Blinkova (No. 51 WTA), who, due to the aggressive war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, is allowed to compete only in a neutral status.
Previously it was reported that another Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk (No. 34 WTA)defeated American Ann Lee (No. 167 WTA) at the start of the tournament in San Diego.
But another Ukrainian Lesya Tsurenko (No. 36 WTA) finished her performance at these competitions, losing to the British Katie Boulter (No. 49 WTA).
