p>Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk reached the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells (USA).
In the 1/8 finals, the 21-year-old native Kieva (No. 32 WTA) won a convincing victory over Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (No. 24 WTA), who, due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, was allowed to compete only in a neutral status.
The match lasted 1 hour 19 minutes and ended with the triumph of the Ukrainian with a score of 6:4, 6:1.
During the entire match, Marta never served through, made 3 double faults and used 5 out of 8 break points.
Note that reaching the quarterfinals is the best result in Kostyuk’s career at WTA 1000 tournaments.
