Elina lost to Elise Mertens, and Angelina could not cope with Daria Kasatkina.
Ukrainian tennis players Elina Svitolina and Angelina Kalinina lost their third round matches at the WTA 500 tournament in Charleston (USA).
Svitolina was defeated by Belgian Elise Mertens, and Kalinina lost to the “neutral” Russian Daria Kasatkina, who publicly condemned the Russian war against Ukraine.
The match between Svitolina and Mertens lasted 1 hour 7 minutes and ended in Elina’s defeat with a score of 4:6, 1 :6.
Kalinina and Kasatkina spent 1 hour 25 minutes on the court. Angelina lost with a score of 1:6, 4:6.
Thus, all Ukrainians dropped out of the singles competition in Charleston. Earlier, Dayana Yastremskaya and Lesya Tsurenko failed to overcome the second round.
