The Kharkov club won the first victory in 2024, breaking a multi-match winless streak.
Metalist 1925defeated Vorsklain the match of the 27th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL). The meeting at the Left Bank stadium in Kyiv ended with the score 3:2.
In the 26th minute, the Kharkiv team took the lead from Nikita Bezugly , the Poltava team responded six minutes later with a goal from Ibrahim Kane.
However, Viktor Skrypnyk’s team still went into the break with an advantage in the score – by In the 39th minute, Artem Gabelok scored.
In the second half, Metalist 1925 scored another goal – in the 79th minute, the penalty was converted by Dmitry Yusov.
Vorskla reduced the gap into compensated time – in the 90th+4th minute Ruslan Stepanyuk made an accurate shot from the penalty spot. However, Sergei Dolgansky's team could not escape defeat.

Metalist 1925 (22 points) left the direct relegation zone from the UPL, rising to 14th place. Vorskla (30 points) remained in eighth place.
