The Donetsk club won the 15th championship in its history.
Donetsk Shakhtar beat Dynamo Kiev in the central match of the 28th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) . The match at the Lviv Arena ended with the score 1:0. This allowed the Pitmen to become champions ahead of schedule.
In the first half, Marino Pusic's team secured a minimal lead in the score. In the 29th minute, after Kevin's cross from the left flank, Daniil Sikan hit the ball in the hand of Konstantin Vivcharenko – the referee reviewed the replay of the episode using the VAR system and awarded a penalty.
Georgiy took it upon himself to carry out the sentence Sudakovand in the 33rd minute confidently sent the ball low into the left corner, while Kiev goalkeeper Georgiy Buschan jumped into the other corner.
In the second half, the teams played on the counter courses, but failed to convert their chances into goals. Consequently, the Donetsk team retained a minimal victory.
Note that the match ended in a mass brawl, following which the referee showed a straight red card to the Pitmen's midfielder Eguinaldo.
Thanks to the victory in the Classic, the Pitmen secured UPL gold ahead of schedule. Two rounds before the end of the championship, Shakhtar's advantage (70 points) over Dynamo increased to 7 points.
For the Donetsk club this is the 15th championship in history. Thus, Shakhtar has come closer in this indicator to Dynamo, which remains the record holder of the Ukrainian championship with 16 titles won.

In the next round, the Orange-Blacks will play away against Dnepr-1 on May 19, and the White-Blues Kryvbas will host the same day.
We would like to add that on Wednesday, May 15, Shakhtar will play with Vorskla in the Ukrainian Cup final, which will be held at the Avangard stadium in Rivne. The starting whistle will sound at 19:00.
