Alexander Shovkovsky's team secured a comfortable handicap before return match in Belgrade.
Kiev Dynamo defeated the Serbian Partizanin the first match of the second round of qualifying for the Champions League of the 2024/25 season. The meeting at the Arena Lublin in Lublin, Poland, ended with the score 6:2.
The Serbian club took the lead in the 22nd minute of the match – Saldanha converted the penalty awarded by the referee after watching a video replay (VAR) for a foul on Alexander Karavaev in his own penalty area.
However, at the end of the first half, the “white-blues” turned the tide of the confrontation, scoring three times into the opponent’s goal within six minutes. In the 40th minute, Nikolai Shaparenko equalized the score with a shot into the top near corner after a pass from Vladislav Kabaev.
And already in the 43rd minute, Vladimir Brazhko brought the “white-blues” ahead, from outside the penalty area with a shot from lawn, accurately hitting the far corner.
Just before the break, in the 45th + 1st minute, Alexander Shovkovsky's team scored the third goal against Partizan – Karavaev sent the ball from the right flank of the penalty area with a ricochet from the defender of the Serbian club to the far corner.
At the start of the second half, the Kyivians made the score crushing. In the 55th minute, Kabayev extended the ball into the opponent's penalty area and shot into the lower left corner.
In the 66th minute, Partizan scored one goal – Saldanha pushed the ball into the net of Georgiy Bushchan's goal after a header from Zubairu Ibrahim from the left flank of the penalty area.
But then Dynamo put an end to this match. In the 83rd minute, Denis Popov shot into the empty net after a pass from Nazar Voloshin, and in the 90+2nd minute, Alexander Pikhalenok scored the sixth goal against the Serbian team.

The return match between Dynamo and Partizan will take place on Wednesday, July 31, in Belgrade . Starts at 21:00 Kyiv time.
The winner of the two-game confrontation between Dynamo and Partizan will face Scottish Rangers in the third round of Champions League qualifying, and the loser in the third round of Europa League qualifying will face to those who lose in the pair “Lugano” (Switzerland) – “Fenerbahce” (Turkey).
