On Saturday, August 3, Ukraine won its first “gold” at the Olympic Games-2024 in Paris. Ukrainian sabre fencers distinguished themselves in the team fencing tournament.
In the final, the Ukrainian team, represented by Olga Kharlan, Elena Kravatska, Alina Komashchuk and Yulia Bakastova, defeated the South Korean team with a score of 45:42.
Until the last round, the “blue-yellows” were losing 37:40, but then Harlan came out on the track and proved that she is one of the best sabre fencers in the history of this sport. Olga tied the score, after which she delivered decisive hits to her opponent.

Note that this is Harlan's second medal at the Olympics in Paris. Previously, she won “bronze” in the individual sabre event.
Overall, this is the sixth Olympic award in Kharlan's career. At the previous Olympic Games, she won four medals: she became the 2008 Olympic champion and the 2016 silver medalist in the team tournament, and also won bronze medals in the individual championship at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.
Thus, Kharlan became the absolute record holder of Ukraine for medals won at the Olympics.
