Ukrainian Olga Kharlan set a unique achievement by winning gold in the team sabre fencing tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
For the 33-year-old athlete, this is the sixth Olympic award in her career. Kharlan became the absolute record holder for Ukraine in medals won at the Olympics.
She broke the record of swimmer Yana Klochkova, who won five medals at the Olympic Games.
The Paris Olympics are the fifth in Kharlan's career. In the Olympic team tournament, she won gold twice (2008, 2024) and silver once (2016), and also won bronze three times in the individual championship (2012, 2016, 2024).

“Gold” in team sabre is Ukraine's first top-class award at the The 2024 Olympics and the third medal overall. Earlier, Kharlan won “bronze” in the individual sabre championship, and Serhiy Kulish won “silver” in shooting.
Another award at the 2024 Olympics, at least a bronze one, was guaranteed for Ukraine by Oleksandr Khizhnyak, who reached the semi-finals of the boxing tournament.
The Games in Paris will last until August 11. Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes who compete in 23 sports.
