Faith Kipyegon could have been left without a medal due to her behavior in the final.
An interesting incident occurred in the women's 5000 meter race at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Kenyan Faith Kipyegon was initially stripped of her silver medal but later had it returned.
The 30-year-old African finished second in the final, just behind her compatriot Beatrice Chebet. The top three was completed by Dutchwoman Sifan Hassan.
However, after the race, the competition organisers reviewed the results and disqualified Kipyegon for pushing Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay on the penultimate lap.
Commentators say Tsegay should be disqualified, not Faith Kipyegon.

Consequently, Faith lost the silver medal – this award went to Hassan, and the Italian became the bronze medalist Nadia Battocletti, who finished fourth.
The Kenyan side did not agree with this decision and filed an appeal, which was approved. The World Athletics Committee jury recognized that the Kenyan's hand actions did not merit disqualification.
As a result, Kipyegon was given a yellow card for the rest of the 2024 Olympics, but her silver medal was returned to her. The distribution of places on the podium was again as it was immediately after the finish.
