One of the three Ukrainians managed to make it to the finals.
On Wednesday, August 7, the men's high jump qualification competitions for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris took place.
Ukraine was represented by three athletes – Vladislav Lavsky, Oleh Doroshchuk and Andrey Protsenko. Only Doroshchuk managed to qualify for the final.
Doroshchuk cleared 2.24 meters on his second attempt, which was enough to enter the top 12 finalists.
Protsenko did not clear the starting height of 2.15 meters and ended his performance at the 2024 Olympics. Lavskiy also dropped out of the competition, having failed to clear the 2.20-meter bar.
The men's high jump final at the 2024 Olympic Games will be held on Saturday, August 10.
Note that in the women's high jump at the 2024 Olympics, our athletes won two medals at once: Yaroslava Mahuchikh won gold, and Iryna Gerashchenko became a bronze medalist.
Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes competing in 23 sports. Ukrainian athletes have already won seven awards at the 2024 Olympic Games: two gold, two silver, and three bronze.
As of now, Ukraine ranks 19th in the medal standings. The Games in Paris will last until August 11.
