Lyudmyla Luzan and Anastasia Rybachok won Ukraine's eleventh medal at the Paris Games.
Lyudmyla Luzan and Anastasia Rybachok won the silver medal in the women's 500-meter canoe sprint.
In the final, Luzan and Rybachok came in second with a time of 1:54.30 minutes, beating the Canadian team (1:54.36) in the final meters of the race. The gold went to the Chinese, who covered the distance in 1:52.81 minutes.
It should be noted that in their semi-final race, the Ukrainians finished third with a time of 1:55.62 minutes, which allowed them to reach the final.
Luzan and Rybachok became two-time Olympic vice-champions in canoeing doubles. At the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, they also won silver in this discipline.
Luzan and Rybachok's medal was the eleventh for Ukraine at the current Olympics. Now the “blue-yellows” have three gold, four silver and four bronze medals.
Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes competing in 23 sports. The Games in Paris will last until August 11.
