Artem did not score in his first official match for the Romans.
Roma head coach Daniele De Rossi assessed the performance of Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk in the match of the 1st round of the Italian Serie A of the 2024/25 season against Cagliari.
The match ended in a 0:0 draw. For 27-year-old Dovbyk, this was his first official match for the Roman club. The Ukrainian came out in the starting lineup and spent 90 minutes on the field. During this time, he shot at the opponent's goal three times, including in the 80th minute, a header that hit the crossbar after a cross from Paulo Dybala.
“It was a difficult match for Dovbyk. We did not put him in the best conditions in the first half. In the second, he did very well, he often received the ball and almost scored. I have a feeling that he will score a lot of goals,” Radio Romanista quotes De Rossi as saying.
In the second round of Serie A, the Romans will host Empoli. The match will take place on Sunday, August 25.
Recall that last season, Dovbyk scored 24 goals and made 8 assists in 36 matches in the Spanish championship as part of Girona. He became the top scorer of La Liga, and also finished as the leader in the goal plus assist system.
