The Foxes snatch a draw from Spurs in the final match of the opening round of the Premier League.
Leicester and Tottenham ended in a draw in the final match of the 1st round of the English Premier League (EPL) of the 2024/25 season. The match at the King Power Stadium in Leicester ended with a score of 1:1.
The first half was won by the Spurs – in the 29th minute, Pedro Porro headed his team ahead after a pass from James Maddison from the left flank.
In the second half of the meeting, the Foxes managed to recoup. Club legend 37-year-old Jamie Vardy accurately headed the ball from within the penalty area, closing a soft cross that was executed from the right flank by Issahaku Fatawa. The teams did not score any more goals.
Review of the match “Leicester” – “Tottenham”
It is worth noting that for “Leicester” this was the first match after returning to the elite division. Last season, the “foxes” won the Championship (the second-ranked football division in England – ed.).
Interestingly, unlike “Tottenham”, “Leicester” has one Premier League championship in its history. Under the guidance of Claudio Ranieri, the Foxes won the title in the 2015/16 season.
In the second round of the Premier League, Leicester will play away to Fulham on August 24, while Tottenham will host Everton on the same day.
