This is a milestone, the 10th world record in the Swede's career.
Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis has once again set a new world record in pole vault. This happened at the 2024 Diamond League stage in Poland.
The 24-year-old Swede won the competition with a result of 6.26 meters. He increased by one centimeter the world record (6.25 meters), which he himself set at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, where he won “gold”.

Second place went to American Sam Kendricks, and third to Emmanouil Karalis from Greece. Both cleared the bar at a height of 6 meters.
For Duplantis, this is already the third time he has broken the world record this season. The first was in April at the Diamond League stage in Xiamen, China – 6.24 meters.
Armand broke the world record in pole vault for the tenth time in his career. He has held the world record in this discipline since February 2020.
“I felt in my body that I was capable of breaking the world record. The weather was absolutely perfect for jumping high: no wind, warm. Everything depended only on me,” Duplantis was quoted as saying by Swedish broadcaster SVT.
Duplantis is the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic champion, multiple world and European champion, and winner of the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Diamond League finals.
