Ukrainian athletes won two medals at the Diamond League stage in Silesia, Poland. Mikhail Kokhan won silver in the hammer throw, and Oleg Doroshchuk won bronze in the high jump.
23-year-old Kokhan threw the hammer 79.85 meters. He was only beaten by the current world champion Ethan Katzberg from Canada (80.03 meters), who won gold at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Third place went to Pole Wojciech Nowicki (76.05 meters).
At the Olympics in the French capital, Kokhan won the bronze medal with a result of 79.39 meters. The Ukrainian was ahead of Katzberg (84.12 meters) and Hungarian Bence Galas (79.97 meters).

In the high jump sector, Doroshchuk climbed to the podium with the third result – the Ukrainian conquered the height of 2.29 meters on his second attempt. The winner was the Italian Gianmarco Tamberi (2.31 meters), and the silver medalist was Romain Beckford from Jamaica, who jumped 2.29 meters on his first attempt.
It is worth noting that 23-year-old Doroshchuk competed at the Diamond League level for the first time in his career. At the 2024 Olympics, he finished sixth in the final with a personal best, clearing 2.31 meters.
