On Wednesday, August 28, the opening ceremony of the summer Paralympic Games-2024.
The Ukrainian national team also took part in it. The blue and yellow flag at the ceremony was carried by fencer Elena Fedota-Isayeva and rower Roman Polyansky.
When the Ukrainian Paralympians came out, the spectators, including French President Emmanuel Macron and the entire VIP box, applauded standing up.

The 2024 Paralympics will be held in Paris from August 28 to September 8. Ukraine will be represented by 140 athletes who will compete in 17 sports. This is a record number of sports in the Paralympic history of Ukraine.
At the previous Summer Paralympic Games, which took place in 2021 in Tokyo, Ukrainian athletes won 98 awards: 24 gold, 47 silver and 27 bronze. With this result, Ukraine took sixth place in the medal count and became fifth in the number of awards.
