Karen Chukhadzhyan failed to win the IBF welterweight title.
Ukrainian welterweight boxer Karen Chukhadzhyan was defeated by American Jaron Ennis in a fight for the IBF world champion belt, which took place on the night of November 10 in Philadelphia (USA).
The fight lasted all 12 rounds. In the 5th round, Ennis knocked Chukhadzhyan down. In the 10th three-minute period, the judges deducted one point from Karen for dirty fighting.
As a result, Chukhadzhyan, who approached the fight as a mandatory challenger, lost by unanimous decision: 119:107, 117:109, 116:110 in favor of the American.
Review of the Ennis – Chukhadzhyan fight
We should add that Chukhadzhyan met Ennis for the second time in ring. In their first fight, which took place in January 2023, the Ukrainian also lost by unanimous decision. At that time, the title of interim world champion according to IBF was at stake.
Currently, Chukhadzhyan has 24 wins (13 by knockout) and three losses. Ennis now has 33 wins (29 by knockout) and no losses.
