Unai Melgosa's team came back from 1:3 and escaped defeat.
The Ukrainian youth football team (U-21) drew with Portugal in a friendly match, which took place in Alverca do Ribatejo. The productive match ended with a score of 3:3.
Already in the 4th minute of the match, the “blue-yellows” took the lead – Arseniy Batagov converted a penalty.
However, before the break, the Portuguese responded with three goals of their own – Rafael Rodriguez and Mateus Fernandes scored, and Batagov scored an own goal.
However, after the break, Unai Melgosa's charges made a comeback and saved themselves from defeat. In the 56th minute, Maksim Khlan converted a penalty. And in the 86th minute, Batagov scored a double and brought the Ukrainians a draw.

On November 19, Melgosa's team will play a friendly with Italy in La Spezia. The starting whistle will sound at 19:15 Kyiv time.
These matches for the Ukrainian youth team are preparation for the final tournament of Euro 2025, which will be hosted by Slovakia next year. The draw for the continental championship with the participation of our team will take place on December 3.
