Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open-2025 doubles.
In the 1/8 finals, the 22-year-old native of Kyiv, in a duet with Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse, defeated 12th-seeded Chinese Hanyu Guo and “neutral” Russian Alexandra Panova.
The intense match lasted more than three hours and ended with a score of 7:5, 4:6, 7:6.
The next opponents of Kostyuk and Ruse will be the Taiwanese-Latvian pair of Shuwei Xie and Jelena Ostapenko. The match will take place on the night of January 21.
Earlier it was reported that Kostyuk failed to overcome the third round of the singles at the Australian Open-2025, losing to Spaniard Paula Badosa.
