Ukrainian tennis players Lyudmyla and Nadezhda Kichenok reached the final of the WTA 500 doubles tournament in Linz, Austria.
In the semifinals, the Kichenok sisters beat Anna Danilina from Kazakhstan and neutral tennis player with a Russian passport, Irina Khromacheva. The match lasted 1 hour and 10 minutes and ended with the victory of the Ukrainian duo with a score of 6:4, 6:0.
During the time spent on the court, Lyudmyla and Nadezhda served aces twice, made two double faults and used 6 out of 7 break points.
The Kichenok sisters are playing their first joint tournament since the 2024 Olympics, where they lost in the quarterfinals to the Spanish duo Kristina Buksha/Sara Sorribes Tormo.
In the final, the Ukrainians will play against the winners of the match Katerina Siniakova/Zhang Shuai (Czech Republic/China) – Timea Babos/Luisa Stefani (Hungary/Brazil).
Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska withdrew to the semi-finals of the individual tournament in Linz.
