Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis has broken the world record in pole vault for the eleventh time in his career.

It happened at the Continental Tour stage in Clermont-Ferrand, France. The 25-year-old athlete won the competition, clearing the bar at a height of 6.27 meters.

Duplantis improved by one centimeter the previous world record (6.26 meters), which he himself set at the end of August 2024 at the Diamond League stage in Poland.

Arman broke the world record in pole vault for the eleventh time in his career. He has held the world record in this discipline since February 2020.

“I just feel good. What can I say: I came here for this. I put all my efforts into doing this and I did it,” Reuters quotes Duplantis as saying after setting a new world record.

Duplantis is the Olympic champion of Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024, multiple world and European champion, winner of the Diamond League finals in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
