Yaroslav Amosov returned to the octagon with a bright victory after losing a title fight.

Former Bellator welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov won an early victory over American Curtis Millender in a fight that became the main event of the Cage Fury Fighting Championships 140 tournament in Philadelphia (USA).

The 31-year-old Ukrainian dealt with his opponent in the first round. Yaroslav applied a choke, as a result of which the American decided to give up 43 seconds before the end of the round.

Immediately after this, Amosov helped Millender to his feet and hugged him.

Ukrainian world boxing champion in the WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO heavyweight division, Oleksandr Usyk , congratulated Yaroslav on his victory.

“Congratulations on your victory, champ,” Usyk wrote on his Instagram story, posting a shot of the referee raising Amosov's hand as a sign of his triumph.

For Yaroslav, this was his first fight since November 2023, when he was defeated by Jamaican Jason Jackson and lost the Bellator championship title.

In September of this year, Amosov's contract with Bellator ended. Next, the Ukrainian intends to test his strength in the most prestigious mixed martial arts promotion, UFC.

Amosov now has 28 wins and one loss in 29 mixed martial arts fights.

Let us add that after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Yaroslav joined the ranks of the territorial defense and helped drive the occupiers out of his hometown of Irpen.

At the end of February 2023, Amosov returned to mixed martial arts and defended his championship belt , defeating American Logan Storley at the Bellator 291 tournament in Dublin, Ireland.

Recall that Amosov won the Bellator title in June 2021, when he defeated Brazilian Douglas Lima . He became the first Ukrainian champion in the history of the promotion.
