Defender Maxim Taloverov has left the national team.
English Plymouth defender Maksym Taloverov will not help the Ukrainian national team in the playoff matches against Belgium for the right to play in the elite division of the next Nations League .
As reported by the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) on its official Telegram channel, the 24-year-old footballer left the national team due to an injury.
Doctors diagnosed Maxim with a knee joint injury, which he received while playing for his club.
Therefore, Taloverov is returning to Plymouth, where the club doctors will be involved in his further recovery.
Ukraine's matches against Belgium are scheduled for March 20 and 23. The first meeting will be nominally home for the “blue-yellows” and will take place in Murcia, Spain, while the return match will be hosted by Genk, Belgium.
The winner of the two-match confrontation between Ukraine and Belgium will receive a place in the most prestigious Division A of the League of Nations. The team that loses will play the next tournament in Division B.
Earlier it was reported that the head coach of the “blue-yellows” Serhiy Rebrov announced the composition of the Ukrainian national team for the matches with Belgium in the playoffs of the League of Nations.
