Naoya Inoue's fight in the US did not interest fans
On May 4, a boxing evening from the Top Rank promotional company will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (USA).
The main event will be the title fight in the super bantamweight (up to 55.3 kg) – absolute world champion Naoya “Monster” Inoue (29–0, 26 KO) from Japan will meet American Ramon Cardenas (26–1, 14 KO) in the ring.
“The Monster” will perform in the United States for the first time since 2021 – the boxer holds most of his fights in Japan, where he is very popular and easily sells out stadiums. On the eve of the showdown in Las Vegas, there was a problem with tickets. It seems that the fight of the absolute world champion did not interest the fans.
“The organization of the fight at the T-Mobile Arena is a complete failure. Tickets are almost not selling, this should be handled by the representatives of Top Rank. Inoue and his team are angry and do not know what to do next. All the blame lies with the company that organized this fight,” the source said.
Inoue last fought in January of this year, knocking out South Korean challenger Ye Yun Kim in the fourth round. Cardenas defeated Mexican Brian Acosta by unanimous decision on February 8.
