Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany commented on the defeat to Inter (1:2) in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
“We lost and I can only speak about what I saw and what I felt. It didn't feel like we couldn't score. It didn't feel like the attacks were futile. We created chances right up until the end, but the final score isn't always fair.”
“In essence, only the first half is behind us. And no one goes into the break with the score 1:2 saying, 'That's it, I give up, let's go home.' We believe in victory in Milan.”
“We could have scored more than one goal. Two, three, even more. We know that Inter have great players in attack. We were always aware of this threat, but we attacked more dangerously and created chances. I know it is difficult to play away against Inter. But I don't think we should go out on the pitch thinking about defeat, worrying about injured and out-of-pocket players. We will have chances in Milan.”
