YouTube blogger, boxer and showman Jake Paul (11-1, 7 KO) announced the interest of former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KO) in holding a fight between them.
“We'll schedule this fight for 2026. I spoke to Anthony on the phone. He called me and said, 'I saw you challenged me.' He said, 'Let's make it happen. Let's make this fight happen.'

The blogger had previously sought a fight with WBC, WBA and WBO super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. In February, Paul said Alvarez “avoided the fight” and called Saul a “slave.” Canelo responded that he considered such an event more of a show than a fight and suggested waiting until he was ready to retire.
Joshua suffered a defeat to Daniel Dubois in his last fight, which took place in London on September 21. Daniel knocked AJ down three times and knocked his opponent out in the fifth round.
Anthony was injured in the fight with Dubois. The Briton's promoter Eddie Hearn later announced that the former world champion was taking a rest and would not be able to fully train until approximately June.
