WBO lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis (13-0, 9 KO) will have his next fight against Dominican Edwin De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KO). The fight will take place on June 7 in Keyshawn's hometown of Norfolk (Virginia, USA).
Interestingly, this information appeared a day after De Los Santos wrote on social media that negotiations for this fight had fallen through.
For Davis, the fight will be the first defense of the title he won in February of this year against Ukrainian Denis Berinchyk. Let us recall that the American inflicted his first defeat on Denis in the professional ring, winning by knockout in the fourth round.
Earlier, Keyshawn, who turned 26 at the end of February, said that he would like to return to the ring before the summer, and expressed hope that another Ukrainian, IBF and IBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs), will have his last fight in his career with him.
For 25-year-old De Los Santos, the fight against Davis will be the first in more than a year and a half. Recall that in November 2023, Edwin lost by unanimous decision to Shakur Stevenson in a fight for the vacant WBC lightweight title.
