Gilberto Ramirez expressed his desire to meet with the Ukrainian
On June 28, a heavyweight title fight (up to 90.7 kg) will take place – WBA and WBO world champion Gilberto Ramirez (47–1, 30 KOs) from Mexico and Cuban representative Yuniel Dorticos (27–2, 25 KOs) will enter the ring.
On the eve of this confrontation, the Mexican admitted that he was ready to meet any boxer, including Alexander Usyk.
– I congratulate David Benavidez on the birth of his child and the champion title. We are planning to fight him. I will enter the ring in July, so a fight with Benavidez can be organized before the end of the year. It doesn’t matter to me who I fight. Usyk, Opetaia. I can fight any opponent.
– Where will your fight with Usyk take place?
“I'm going to move up to heavyweight. We're both southpaws, so it's going to be an interesting fight for the fans. We have similar moves in the ring. It's going to be tough for both of us,” Ramirez said.
In his last fight, the Mexican defeated Briton Chris Billam-Smith by unanimous decision and took his WBO world champion title.
