The English Premier League is nearing its final stretch, and Matchweek 33 featured a series of games that shifted the balance of power in the standings. London-based Arsenal confidently defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2–0, maintaining their spot at the top of the league. This win allowed the Gunners to temporarily pull away from their title rivals, reports Baltimore Chronicle.

Manchester City and Liverpool also played their respective matches. Pep Guardiola’s side crushed Luton Town 5–1, while Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool unexpectedly suffered a home defeat to Crystal Palace, losing 0–1. As a result of this loss, the Merseyside club dropped to third place, while City moved up to second, trailing Arsenal only on tiebreakers.

In the race for European spots, Aston Villa had claimed an important win over Arsenal in Matchweek 32, but in the current round, they fell 1–2 to Brentford, missing the chance to solidify their position. Tottenham Hotspur took advantage of Villa’s slip and, after thrashing Newcastle 4–0, drew level on points with them while still having a game in hand.

At the bottom of the table, the relegation fight is heating up. Sheffield United remain last with 16 points. Burnley, with 20 points, and Luton Town, on 25, are still stuck in the drop zone. Nottingham Forest sits just one point above the relegation line, remaining in danger.

Currently, the top three consists of Arsenal (74 points), Manchester City (73), and Liverpool (71). Aston Villa holds fourth place (63), followed by Tottenham Hotspur (63), who have a game in hand.

All matches from the 33rd round have been completed, but some teams still have games in hand that could affect the final league positions. The end of the season promises a tense finish, both in the title race and the battle for survival.
