Elina Svitolina has confidently advanced to the final of the WTA 250 hard court tournament held in the French city of Rouen. In the semifinal match, the Ukrainian tennis player faced American Emma Navarro, who was the second seed of the tournament, reports the Baltimore Chronicle.
The match concluded in just 68 minutes. Svitolina dominated on the court and claimed a straight-sets victory with a scoreline of 6–1, 6–2. In the first set, the Ukrainian won four consecutive games after leading 2–1. In the second set, she quickly seized control, jumping to a 3–0 lead and confidently closed out the match.
Thanks to this victory, Svitolina will compete in the final, where she will face the winner of the match between American Caroline Dolehide and French player Varvara Gracheva. This will be the Ukrainian’s second WTA final of the season.
In the quarterfinal in Rouen, Svitolina had previously defeated Czech player Tereza Martincova with a score of 6–1, 6–3. Her performance in France underlines her solid form as she continues to play confidently following her return to the tour.
