The Ukrainian Super Cup football match will not take place in 2025. This was officially reported on the website of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL). The proposal was supported by UPL clubs during a videoconference, reports the Baltimore Chronicle with reference to UPL.
As a result, the Ukrainian Super Cup will not be played for the fourth year in a row. The last time the trophy was contested was in 2021, when Shakhtar Donetsk defeated Dynamo Kyiv 3–0. Since 2022, due to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the decision was made to cancel the Super Cup.
Traditionally, the Ukrainian Super Cup match featured the previous season’s Premier League champion and the winner of the national Cup. Additionally, the base date for the start of the new UPL season has been set — August 2, 2025.
