In the semi-final match of the Ukrainian Cup, Donetsk’s Shakhtar defeated Zhytomyr’s Polissya 1-0 after extra time, securing a place in the final of the tournament, reports the Baltimore Chronicle.
The regular time of the match, which took place at the stadium in Zhytomyr, ended in a 0-0 draw, although Shakhtar had the advantage in ball possession and created more chances. The winning goal came in the 113th minute when Alysson scored after a pass from Traore, following an individual run by the latter in the opponent’s penalty box.
In the final, which will take place on May 14, Shakhtar will face Kyiv’s Dynamo.
