On May 1, 2025, at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa, a title bout took place between Serhiy Radchenko and Kevin Lerena. From the start of the match, Lerena took control, and in the second round, Radchenko was knocked down twice. In the third round, the Ukrainian went down again, after which his corner threw in the towel, and the referee stopped the fight, reports the Baltimore Chronicle.
This defeat marked the eighth loss in the professional career of 37-year-old Radchenko, who has 11 victories, five of which came by knockout. His previous fight was in August 2024, when he won the WBC Silver title by defeating Serbia’s Andrej Pesic.
Kevin Lerena, who became the full WBC bridgerweight champion after Lawrence Okolie moved up to the heavyweight division, successfully defended his title in this bout.
