Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior failed to reach an agreement on extending his contract with the club. His current deal expires in June 2027, reports Baltimore Chronicle, citing ESPN.

Negotiations between the player and the club had been ongoing for some time, but after several meetings, Real Madrid decided to halt discussions, citing the player’s financial demands as being incompatible with the club’s budget. The 25-year-old forward was offered a contract renewal with a salary of 20 million euros per year (his current salary is 17 million euros).

Vinícius agreed to these terms but additionally requested another 10 million euros in bonuses, which caused a negative reaction from Real Madrid. The club considers these demands unrealistic and is now ready to sell the Brazilian in order to avoid losing him for free.

Club president Florentino Pérez has decided to wait until the end of the 2025/26 season to assess all transfer offers. Vinícius, for his part, is open to leaving Spain if he receives an attractive financial offer from another club.
