Former world welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko reacted to a striking victory Vasiliy Lomachenko over Australian George Kambosos in the fight for the vacant IBF belt in the lightweight division.
Senchenko came to the defense of his compatriot, who faced a barrage of criticism due to the fact that after his triumph he did not say a word about Ukraine and the war with the Russian occupiers.
Vyacheslav admitted that he also expected words from Vasily support for Ukraine. At the same time, he did not rule out that Lomachenko’s position is to help his homeland “in deed, not in words.”
“Congratulations to Ukraine on the new world champion. My impression is a cool and bright fight. Vasily approached the fight in good shape. I won’t say that this was perhaps his best shape, but he was in great shape. It was clear that he was fine did not interfere, without injuries.
As I said before the fight, if Lomachenko approaches the fight without injuries, then I don’t see a chance for Kambosos. And so it turned out that the boxers had different levels. the class is a cut above, the technical base is much better and the result is an early victory by technical knockout.

Lomachenko knocked out Kambosos in 11th round and won the vacant IBF lightweight world champion belt. Now the 36-year-old Ukrainian has 18 victories (12 by knockout) and 3 defeats in the professional ring.
