The championship outsider finally broke his winless streak.
“Minay”defeated “Metalist 1925”in the home match of the 19th round of the Ukrainian Premier League ( UPL). The match at the Minai Arena ended with the score 2:0
The home team took the lead in the first half. In the 31st minute, Sergei Korniychuk scored with a beautiful shot into the near top corner after a pass to the left flank of the penalty area from Kirill Prokopchuk.
In the second half, the Kharkov team remained in the minority – in the 59th minute Rostislav Rusin received a second yellow card for the go-ahead signal in the center of the field.
At the end of the game, the Transcarpathians finally removed the question of the winner – at 90+1- in the th minute, Evgeniy Skiba finished off a corner kick from the right flank with a header under the crossbar.
Review of the match “Minaj” – “Metalist 1925”
For “Minaya” this is the first victory in the current UPL season. Until this time, the Transcarpathian club suffered 9 defeats and drew 7 times.
Zeljko Ljubenovic’s team is in last, 16th place with 10 points. “Metalist 1925” (15 points) is in 13th position.
In the next round, the Minai will play against “Zarya” on March 7. A day later, Viktor Skripnik’s team will meet with LNZ.
