Your attention is given to the full calendar and results of the world hockey championship, which takes place in the Czech Republic.

On May 10, the 2024 Ice Hockey World Championship started in the Czech Prague and Ostrava in the elite division, which will last until May 26.

This is the 87th planetary hockey championship among men's teams in history. The tournament is attended by 16 teams, divided into two groups of eight teams.

Group A: Finland, Canada, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Austria, Norway, Great Britain.

Group B : Sweden, Slovakia, Latvia, USA, Kazakhstan, Germany, France, Poland.

The four best teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.

Teams that finish last in their groups will be relegated to Division IA. In the next tournament, they will be replaced by Hungary and Slovenia, which this season won tickets to the elite division, taking first and second places in Division IA.

Recall that the 2023 World Cup in the elite division won Canadian team that defeated Germany in the final. In the match for bronze, Latvia beat the United States, winning medals at the world hockey championship for the first time in history.

Note that in early May the Ukrainian team won the 2024 World Hockey Championship in the third strongest division (IV) and won a promotion in class. Next year, the “blue-yellows” will compete in the second highest-ranking division (IA) of the world championship.
