Yaroslava brought Ukraine the first medal at the planetary championship in Glasgow

Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Maguchikh won a silver medal at the 2024 World Indoor Athletics Championships, which began in Glasgow, Scotland.

22-year-old The Ukrainian finished the competition with a score of 1.97 meters. Yaroslava tried to conquer the height of 1.99 meters, but was unable to do it after three attempts.

The world champion was Australian Nicola Olislagers, who jumped 1.99 meters in her last third attempt. Liya Apostolovski from Slovenia (1.95 meters) won bronze.

Another Ukrainian, Yulia Levchenko, took 9th place in the final with a score of 1.84 meters.

For Yaroslava, this is the second medal in her career at the World Indoor Championships – in 2022 she won gold at the planetary championship in Belgrade.

“Silver ” Maguchikh is Ukraine's first award at the 2024 World Indoor Championships.

It was previously reported that Maguchikh triumphed with a record at the prestigious competition in New York.
