Francesco Calzona took over the leadership of the “Partenopeans” ; instead of Walter Mazzarri.

According to the official website of the Neapolitan club, Walter Mazzarri was fired from his post as coach of the Parthenopeans. Francesco Calzona was appointed in his place.
Mazzarri headed Napoli only in November last year, replacing Rudi Garcia. Since then, at the head of the reigning champions of Italy, the 62-year-old specialist has played 17 matches – 6 wins and 8 losses, three more games ended in a draw.
Walter previously worked with Napoli from 2009 to 2013, and quite successfully – under his leadership, the Parthenopeans won silver medals in Serie A, won the Italian Cup, and also qualified for the Champions League.
Until the end of the current season, the new coach of the Neapolitans, Calzona, will combine his work in the Italian club and in the Slovakian national team, which he managed to lead to the final tournament of Euro 2024.
