The Ukrainians lost to the American tandem in the decisive tie-break.
Ukrainian tennis players Lyudmila and Nadezhda Kichenok failed to become the winner of the doubles at the WTA 500 tournament in Charleston, America.
In the final match, the sisters were defeated by Americans Ashlyn Kruger and Sloane Stephens.
The fight lasted 1 hour 21 minutes. Lyudmila and Nadezhda crushingly won the first set – 6:1, but then lost the second set – 3:6, after which they lost in the decisive tiebreak – 7:10.
We would like to add that in the semi-finals the Ukrainian >beat the top seedsNicole Melichar (USA) and Ellen Perez (Australia).
The Kichenok sisters played together in the final at the WTA level for the eighth time, and managed to win the title four times. This was their first WTA tournament final on clay.
Before this, Lyudmila and Nadezhda last played in the final together in September 2022, when they won the WTA 250 tournament in Tallinn.
