Ruslan Rotan's team missed both goals in the second half. In the 48th minute, Japanese midfielder Kein Sato opened the scoring in the match with a successful finishing move.
In the 76th minute, the Asian team doubled its lead – midfielder Satoshi Tanaka received the ball in the “blue-yellow” penalty area and accurately fired into the far corner.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs of the Olympic tournament. In the quarterfinals, Ukrainians can meet one of the teams from Group A: France, New Zealand, USA or the winner of the intercontinental playoffs (Guinea against the fourth team from the Asian Confederation).
