The situation on the border of Sumy Oblast with Kursk Oblast of the Russian Federation is under the complete control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to his message on Facebook.

According to him, a number of settlements that Russian propagandists mention in their reports actually no longer exist due to massive shelling by the enemy.

Despite the significant number of Russian troops, reinforced by North Korean infantry, the enemy is suffering significant losses.

“In the Plekhovoye area alone, in four days of fighting, the enemy lost virtually a battalion of infantry,” noted Syrsky.

Ukrainian defenders are also effectively destroying sabotage and reconnaissance groups and small infantry units of the enemy that are trying to break through to Ukrainian territory.

Syrsky noted that in order to strengthen the group in the region, a decision was made to additionally involve forces and resources, in particular electronic warfare and unmanned vehicles.

He also denied Russian statements about the threat of encirclement of Ukrainian units.

“There is currently no threat of encirclement of our units in the Kursk region. The units are taking timely measures to maneuver to advantageous defense lines,” he said.

The situation in the Kursk region

It is worth noting that according to a number of media reports, the situation in the Kursk region has allegedly begun to worsen recently. In particular, it was stated that Russian military forces have advanced northwest of Sudzha – in the Sverdlikovo area towards the Ukrainian state border.

The Telegraph also wrote about the alleged encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region. According to the media, after the US stopped exchanging intelligence, Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region allegedly found themselves under threat of encirclement. This, according to them, complicated the prediction of attacks and the coordination of defense.

But the Center for Countering Disinformation specified that in the border part of Sumy Oblast, there are heavy battles with Russian assault groups. The occupiers are trying to break through to the city of Sudzha, which is in Kursk Oblast.
