Ukraine will receive more Mirage fighters from France. Such aircraft are already helping to protect Ukrainian skies.
As reported by RBC-Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this at a press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Zelensky thanked Macron for the Mirage fighters provided. According to the Ukrainian president, they have already become part of Ukraine's air shield.
He noted that French fighters help primarily to defend against Shaheds and other attack drones launched by the Russians.
“We have discussed that we will increase the number of Mirages,” the president added.
Mirage for Ukraine
Recall that French President Emmanuel Macron promised to provide Ukraine with Mirage 2000 fighters last year. Initially, deliveries were planned to begin at the end of 2024.
As a result, the delivery of the first fighters to Ukraine became known on February 6 of this year. This was reported by the Minister of Defense of France Sebastien Lecornu.
On March 7, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Mirage fighters were used for the first time to protect Ukrainian skies from Russian missiles and drones.
