Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform March 29 at 11:00 – briefing on the topic: “Effective treatment of tuberculosis: what modern treatment methods are free of charge and available to patients in Ukraine.”

Why is this interesting?

The incidence of tuberculosis in the world increased by almost 4% over the year. The number of deaths from tuberculosis in Europe is increasing after declining for almost 20 years, according to WHO. Medical experts associate the main reasons with insufficient levels of vaccination of children and complicated timely diagnosis of the disease during the COVID-19 pandemic (due to similar symptoms, people did not immediately consult doctors). 2023 in Ukraine 19,800 cases of “active” infection were registered. tuberculosis, 639 –; among children under 14 years of age. Treatment for patients is free, the most modern treatment and diagnostic methods are available, which can reduce the treatment period from two years to 9 months. Event format – offline (Hall 1).
