“Leading US neurosurgeons – with a mission in Lvov. Super complex surgical interventions started today. This is the fourth time that a team of American specialists has visited the First Medical Association of Lviv. We arrived on the weekend and immediately began consultations. In total there were more than 40 of them, – the message says.
It is indicated that patients – people from all regions of Ukraine who suffered from the war -; both adults, including military personnel, and children. Among them, surgeons selected those most in need of surgical interventions.
Operations for adults take place at the St. Panteleimon Hospital, while children are assisted at the St. Nicholas Children's Hospital. It was there that the head of the mission arrived as part of the mission – American neurosurgeon Luke Tomich. Together with Ukrainian colleagues, he will operate on children with epilepsy, vascular anomalies and brain tumors. Six interventions are planned.

A total of 12 doctors from different cities and clinics in the United States are taking part in this mission. This – neurosurgeons, neurologists, anesthesiologists and surgical nurses Their goal is – to support Ukrainian colleagues working in such difficult times for Ukraine. And also – to share our own experience in the surgical treatment of patients with vascular pathologies, in particular, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations of the brain and spinal cord, trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasms, tumors of the brain and spinal cord, as well as spinal pathologies. the interventions will be performed jointly by an American-Ukrainian team and will be free of charge for patients. The mission will last until April 5.
As Ukrinform reported, the 2nd All-Ukrainian Congress of Working Surgeons took place in Lviv. For two days, Lviv doctors, who are leaders in the number of operations using Da Vinci in Ukraine, shared their experience with colleagues.
