Rabies prevention: centers supplied with vaccine have been identified in the regions – Ministry of Health

In each region, anti-rabies care centers have been identified that are supplied with the rabies vaccine.

The Ministry of Health reports this, Ukrinform reports.

“Everyone can receive free medical care in case of a bite or suspected infection. To do this, a person needs to go to a medical institution that provides anti-rabies care; in the health care system, anti-rabies care centers have been identified at the level of medical institutions in each region: they are provided with vaccines, the doctors of the centers provide medical assistance to patients who come in case of bites, scratches, or salivation by animals; carry out primary processing; prescribe and carry out a course of rabies vaccinations if necessary. The doctor will assess the situation, the amount of anti-rabies assistance -; prescribe only a course of vaccination against rabies or, if necessary, combine vaccination with the administration of rabies immunoglobulin, – explains Deputy Minister, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Igor Kuzin.

All regions are supplied with rabies vaccine; it is free of charge for patients.
