The All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers with a request to extend the state preferential lending program “Affordable loans 5-7-9%” for agricultural producers until 2024.
As Ukrinform reports, the VAR press service reported this.
The All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council (VAR) calls on the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to extend the maximum lending period for preferential loans provided to agricultural producers for agricultural activities for at least another year – until March 31, 2025.
“Under current conditions, perhaps the only effective and massive instrument of state support for the agricultural sector is preferential lending to agricultural producers under the “5-7-9” program. However, such support as financing for farmers ends on March 31, 2024. It is by this date that the maximum term for lending to agricultural producers under the “5-7-9” program has been determined,” the appeal says.
VAR notes that the continuation of the program will help preserve the industry and carry out the next sowing campaign uninterruptedly.
It is noted that such changes need to be adopted as quickly as possible, so that from the beginning of next year farmers will already have the opportunity to receive loans for sowing, with the term of such loans not for several months (until March 2024), but for a period until March 31, 2025.
As Ukrinform reported, as of December 27, 10.5 thousand enterprises received 42.4 billion hryvnia under the state program “Available loans 5-7-9”.
