Farms are actively selling available volumes of vegetables.
In Ukraine this week there is another decline in the price >carrot. One of the reasons for this situation was the increase in the supply of these products from local farms, which led to a general decrease in consumer demand and negatively affected the pace of sales in the carrot segment.
This was reported by analysts of the EastFruit project.
< p>As of March 27, carrots from local farms went on sale for 6-10 UAH/kg, which is on average 15% cheaper than a week earlier.
Analysts explained that the downward price trend in this segment is is associated with an increase in the supply of carrots on the market, since those farms that previously refrained from sales are actively selling off the available volumes.
“At the same time, the supply of substandard root crops remains quite high, which also puts pressure on prices for high-quality products,” the message says.
Currently in Ukraine, the price of carrots is on average 75% lower than at the end of March last year. If the market situation does not change in the near future, they will be ready to reduce prices for these root crops further in order to increase the pace of sales.
