Before the holidays, as a rule, people spend more money on purchases.
On the eve of the holidays, there is traditionally a gradual increase in the exchange rate dollar.
Expert Andrei Shevchishin said this in a conversation with 24 channel.
As he explained, before the holidays, as a rule, people spend more money on shopping or exchanging currency. Other factors also influence the rise of the dollar.
“A striking example is when on New Year's Eve there were high payments to the population, bonuses, salaries, etc. These funds are partially used to buy the dollar, because there is no such need to hold the hryvnia in accounts,” the expert noted.
Further, he emphasized that demand for currency exceeds supply on the interbank market, that is, the population and business buy the dollar more often and sell it less. In response, the National Bank is regulating this situation on the market due to controlled flexibility.
According to Shevchishin, the dollar exchange rate is moving to 40 hryvnia, so theNBU will more strictly restrict demand.
As reported, the price of the Easter basket has risen in Ukraine: how much traditional products cost.
