To retire at 60, you need to have 31 years of service.
The pension calculation system in Ukraine may change in the near future. The new system will take into account both the number of years worked and the amount of monthly contributions made by the citizen.
This was reported by the Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych in an interview with the publication “Ukrinform”.
There are three types of pensions:
- solidarity
- mandatory funded
- voluntary funded
“Today's system has undergone many changes. And that's why calculating pensions has become more complicated. Now it contains a lot of additions and additions, for example, an addition to the subsistence minimum, an addition for length of service, etc. are taken into account. People are forced to go to specialists to calculate their pension, because it is almost impossible to do it yourself. And we want to simplify this mechanism,” she said.
Now the system will take into account only two criteria:
- number of years worked
- number of contributions that a person paid monthly
The innovations assume that contributions will be converted into a certain number of points. Each point will be equal to 30% of the average salary for the corresponding year. This means that people who have worked for 35 years and received an average salary during this time will be able to count on receiving at least 30% of their income through the solidarity pension system.
“In addition, we are providing a guarantee – if you have worked for at least 15 years and entered the pension system, then you definitely have the right to 30% of the minimum wage for that year,” she said.
Recall that pensions of Ukrainians are increasing due to recalculations and indexations. However, in August, payments will be increased by calculating special allowances.
